Jess is a U.S. National Synchronized Skating and Midwestern Synchronized Skating Championship Medalist. Jess started her competitive career as a member of Team Braemar's synchronized skating team (Edina, Minnesota) for nine years that culminated in a pewter medal at the US Synchronized Skating Championships. She then skated for Northwestern University's Purple Line Synchronized Skating Team (Chicago, Illinois) and medaled each year at the Midwestern Sectional Championship. She also served as the club's president and treasurer. She has also volunteered at the Canadian National Championships, US Synchronized Skating Championships, and Midwestern Sectional Championships.
Additional Information: When she isn't on the ice, Jess is a Professor in Engineering Education at the University at Buffalo. She has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, a MS in STEM Education, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She enjoys baking, traveling with her family, and reading.

Jess is USFS Coach ICE, SafeSport, and Learn to Skate USA Certified.
● Jess has completed her USFS Silver Skating Skills (formally Novice Moves in the Field), USFS Bronze Singles (formally Juvenile Freestyle).Jess has taught Learn to Skate ages 3 to adult, Rising stars Bronze, Silver and Gold, and private lessons. She is a life long skating starting at the Braemar City of Lakes Figure Skating Club (member 1996-2008), becoming a national competitor with Team Braemar Synchronized Skating Team (1998-2006), and continuing her career through college on Northwestern University Purple Line Synchronized Skating team (2006-2010).
